This social
initiative helps create a more equitable world through the
facilitation of exchanges between people from the northern
and the southern hemisphere (first world and third world). It promotes intercultural
understanding and the exchange of knowledge and
experiences between those visiting Argentina and those
living in this country.
Solidarity
Commitment is aimed at citizens of developed countries,
with or without knowledge of the Spanish language, who wish to
participate in development cooperation courses, internships,
volunteer working or responsable tourism. All of these options
allow to the participants to integrate into the Argentine
culture, becoming familiar with the social reality and with
a big opportunity to learn, and practice the language.
Córdoba
it`s a
typical university city; it is a safe and modern city with
vibrant youth culture, second in importance, only supassed
by Buenos
Aires, but with a smaller cost of life. Located near, the
breath-taking named Sierras, Cordoba
is one of the most popular center of tourism in Argentina,
for argentineans or foreigners.
In the
colonial period, previously of the rise of Buenos Aires, Cordoba
was the center of arts and learning, a place of scholars and
priests, churches and universities. Some 300 years
later, Cordoba it has retained his rich colonial inheritage as
shown by his culture and architecture. In 2000, it was
declared by the UNESCO “World Heritage Site” and
has recently been chosen as the “Cultural Capital of the
Americas” for 2006.

Commitment offers three basic programs:
Formation
in Development
Cooperation
Aimed at
those interested in a Development Cooperation theoretical
and practical training course while sharing their daily life
with Argentineans (specific programs of 30 to 300 days).
Project type options include formation of values, children
and youth, micro-enterprises, gender problems, environment,
poverty reduction, human rights, arts and more. Theory
subjects include, among others things, social reality in Argentina,
social sector, target populations, leadership and management
of NGOs, strategic planning, communication,
fundraising, monitoring and controlling.
Internships
or Volunteering
Designed for
foreign students who wish to put their theoretical knowledge
into practice, or for people who would like to cooperate as a
volunteer in the wide variety of projects carried out by
Fundación Ideas. (customized programs from 30 to 360 days). Internship areas include social
sciences, social work, development, economy, management, marketing,
education, political sciences, human resources,
international relations, journalism and more. Volunteers may
work in fields such as project writing, marketing, human
resources, development, administration, photography, graphic
design, translation and project management, among others.
Responsible
Tourism
Focused on
those students, youths, retirees, or entire families who
have between 15 and 28 days vacations and are interested in
experiencing Argentina's culture, people and social
reality as well as learning about social projects implemented by local
NGOs. This option also offers the possibility to enjoy the
stunning beautyfull nature of Cordoba and other regions.
